I'm fairly new to Steemit, and I get it, it's like Reddit in a way. Again, I'm new here, and my ideas may already be implemented and not learned. If it's here, educate me, please. Here are just some ideas or thoughts about how it could improve. If you disagree or agree, please share. If you have other ideas, I'd love to hear them.
1- A Slightly More Organized Home Page
When I am at the home page, I know it has all the stories from the people I follow, but it would be nice to have a way to keep your "most interested stories" at the top, while keeping your "less interested stories" at the bottom of the feed. How would you do that? You would be able to subscribe to certain tags. Those stories that had such tags would show up at the top of the feed first. Maybe the could even have some "Channels" like "News" or "Cooking" - where everything with news in the first tag would be sifted into it. This would also help by sorting through all the "Steemit, Bitcoin, Cryptocurrency" Stories. I know a lot of you like upvoting that stuff, probably without reading it.
2- Automated Tag Search
I just finish up a story. Now it's tag time. Trouble is, I got to go back to the home page just to find tags that are suitable. It would be cool if there were algorithms that could detect the best tags for your story and perhaps even the best order of the 5.
3- A Home Blog Page That You Could Organize
So, Steemit is a bit like Reddit. I'll be honest, I'm not on Reddit, but I do have a couple blogs. I love that they look like websites. It would be awesome if you could at least organize your home blog page with a few clicks or dragging and dropping. I'm working on a series for my music. It would be nice to be able to have all of those blogs in one easy to find location. Who wants to sift through a bunch of blogs, especially those with 1,000's.
4- Code That Would Accept Image Links From Dropbox or Google Drive
It's ever so annoying to have to post images on Image Safe, copy the URL and paste it. Dropbox also has a link, but I'm not sure why you can't post the link of that image and have it work. Am I doing something wrong?
5- Allow Upvotes For only Opening the Actual Content
So many people, including me, will just fly through the page and upvote on things that they like, without ever opening them to actually read the content. It would be cool if people actually had to open the content to upvote, at least at the beginning. It takes a bit more time, but I think it would make the process more intimate and better in the long run.
These are my ideas. If you think they stink, then tell me and tell me how you'd improve on it.
