I joined steemit in January 2018. Slowly I fell in love with the platform. Steemit takes time to learn and only now after 5 months I am beginning to understand how to really use it.
Part of the reason why I started to use it more actively was because we took a challenge with my girlfriend that we don't watch Netflix or YouTube for 2 months. This disrupt the habit and now I am replacing it with steemit. I find it very satisfying to read and study the platform, but I think most people don't have time to do that.
It took me some dedication to start to use steemit. First of all there is a lot of trash posts. It takes awhile to find good quality posts. I mean posts that give real value to the reader. It is like mining. Sometime you get the reward. I believe that steemit must tackle this major challenge if it wants to become huge platform.
Steemit is still pretty tight and small community and I am happy to be part of it on such an early stage. At the moment there is almost 1 mil users on steemit! (Stats: ) The amount has doubled since I joined steem 5 months ago. The platform is still a very very very tiny fish I mean plankton in the ocean compared to giants like Facebook 2,2 billion users, Instagram 600 million users and Twitter 300 million users. But it's growing.
I remember when the YouTube was on an early stage and there was a lot of poor quality content and you actually had to search stuff and when you found something great you shared it with friends. Now the algorithm finds great stuff for you and saves a lot of your time. I believe that most people value time and want to "waste" it as little as possible. So it is really important to make steemit as easy to use and simple understand as possible and that is what I am going to do.
