Steemit waters flows so fast that it can be hard to keep up. Steemians are constantly working on new cool projects. So today, I figured I would update you on interesting projects I have followed. I will also mention Looking For Niche, for those of you, who are new to my profile.

Hairshares
The Hairshares project promotes donating hair to people who unfortunately have lost their own, maybe due to cancer or alopecia. By donating your hair to an organization that is accepting your donation, you can document it and get a HAIRSHARE token for your efforts. You can trade this token for WHALESHARE tokens, which you can in turn use to support posts on Steemit. In the future, the plan is, that you will be able to support Steemit posts directly with the use of HAIRSHARE through the BitShares Exchange.
So you will be helping people by donating your hair, while being able to help even more people on Steemit (or support your own projects). Read more on the Hairshares project by following .
Nepd is currently running a logo contest for the project, which you can find here:

Post Vote Slider and Past Payout Monetizer
Steemian have released a tool to help smaller accounts (minnows), get a vote slider on Steemit before hitting 500 SP. This can be useful, if you would like to support a few more people with the power you have. He has also created a Past Payout Monetizer. What this tool does is help you vote on comments relevant to a post, if they post is past payout. This is useful for supporting older content for a little longer.

Peerity
I recently learned about Peerity on the Beyond Bitcoin hangout. While not directly related to Steemit, Peerity gives updates to Steemians through their user and the Steemit related hangouts. Peerity is a meet-up project based on blockchain technology. The idea is to incentivize people to meet-up by giving them tokens for their efforts. I like this idea, because I love to get communities together on crypto based projects.
What Peerity as a whole platform can do, as I understand it, is get established communities together in the real world (or on a platform online) and reward them for their endeavors, making them more likely to meet-up again and try to get more people involved. The extra extroverted of you can probably find a way to constantly network with new interesting communities, while at the same time being rewarded for doing so.
You can read Peerity’s most recent announcement here:
Announcing Peerity: A blockchain based community platform!!

Mind-Blowing stuff
The mind-blowing thing with all these projects is that they can benefit from each other! A Hairshares community could exist on Peerity, bringing people in need donations, and benefitting the Hairshares community itself for further growth, making them able to donate even more hair to those in need. All this can be documented, and kept alive on Steemit, where tools such as Past Payout Monetizer might help support each post a just that bit more.
This is why I would recommend you follow as many upcoming projects, as your brain can muster, because so much value is being pumped through the Steemit waters all the time. At the very least, you will be inspired to start your own project or niche community.

Looking For Niche
If you are lost in the big Steemit ocean, I run the Looking For Niche project, which can help you get started with your niche community here on Steemit, or find an existing one. You sign up for tags on Discord, and find others linked to those tags.
