I am one of those Steemit users who complains about the payouts. I feel terrible when something I’ve written doesn’t work out.
Of course there is some subjectivity on a particular piece – but the pain in the butt is when you get 100 votes and make no money.
Why do some people seem to make hundreds of dollars? Does one have to petition around to make “powerful” friends?
I don’t think so. I think the key to making money with Steemit is the key to making money at anything. Find a way to call your user to action. Valuable content is a great way – but what else can you do to add value to your user? We have limited opportunities using the Steemit platform – but given the constraints – what can you do to enhance your value on this site?
Adulation is great for the ego. But monetization is what you are after. With some creative thought – you could be the Steemit equivalent of the pet rock, or hula hoop – the world is your oyster.
