14 people attended the first Austin Steemit Meetup. It was a pleasure to meet each person that came. Thank you to all who attended for making the first Meetup a great time! I couldn't be happier with the way the Meetup went. It was an awesome time connecting with Steemians, getting to know each other, and talking about Steemit!
Cenote's was the perfect venue. We claimed one big bench table which was a great setting for chatting while we enjoyed some refreshments.
T-Shirt Winners!
After introducing ourselves and answering questions about Steemit, everyone started relaxing and chatting.
I was having so much fun hanging out with everyone. At one moment I looked around and decided to snap a couple photos. Sorry about the quality, but I couldn't wait to hurry back to talking with people!
We were having so much fun at the end of the meetup, that a small group of us walked a few blocks over to a great beer and coffee place called Brew and Brew to keep the good times rolling.
Meetup Group and the Austin Steemit Community Discord Channel
Our Meetup Group now has 44 members and the Austin Steemit Community Discord has 12 people so far. This was just the beginning. The first Meetup made me think of several things to improve the next one. I think they will only get bigger and better from here.
made a post about the meetup as well so please check that out. Here is an excerpt from his post
Talking to actual people who are also interested in steemit, instead of just small pictures and names online, made it feel more real in a way. Most people I talk to about steemit in real life tend to brush it off as some weird internet thing, but at that table we were all in.
It's also encouraging to hear about everyone else's successes and struggles. Knowing others are going through the same ups and downs as I am makes me more motivated to keep posting and keep improving. I'm excited to keep this community going and be inspired by all of y'all.
