I like to help new Steemians out and give them tips on things I’ve read about and learned here on Steemit. One thing is for sure, there is no short cut to success. Success has to be earned. Getting successful and staying it is hard work. I see newbies complaining about their earnings all the time and they want to make a quick buck. So there is a way to earn SBD fairly ‘quickly’. Well.. Quickly… At least quicker if you follow these guidelines.
First and foremost: Earnings shouldn’t be your priority. You have to invest to get those earnings!
Yes investing, investing your time and getting little rewards in the beginning. You won’t get a lot of money in the first week(s). Some are getting high rewards, even on their introduction post, yet this is a one in a hundred that gets that. I’m here for 2 month’s now and my average earning per post is around $6. I invest a lot of time into this platform and communicating with others and I see my earnings grow slow but steady. Perhaps in the next 2 month’s I make an average of $10. Who knows! But you have to invest and get your Steem Power up as well. So be patient, be consistent in posting and interact with others.
Do follow for follow doesn’t work. Yeah Really, it doesn’t!
The amount of followers you have doesn’t really matter that much. You can have 3000 followers, but if only 100 of them vote on your post then it isn’t a good representation of yourself. So it’s better to just write great content and don’t ask for follows. Then you know your followers are really here for your content! I admit that I did it in the beginning as well. I grew from 0 to 100 in 2 days or so but my upvotes were very low. That’s because those people actually didn’t read my posts. So I stopped doing that shortly after and came to the conclusion to just write and write some more. Now my follower count grows slow but steady like my earnings and I get more upvotes as well.
So don’t beg for follows, don’t beg for up votes and just write your ass off!
Originality is key
It’s always easy to copy work and take credit for it. Other people did it, and made a lot on that post. Well. It’s not quite that simple. I’ve seen some copycats around and copied a text from a whale that made $100+ and after 7 days the copycat had $2. Because you see, the whale had build its reputation, invested a lot of time and effort to get there while the minnow just copied it and did nothing to get it.
So instead be original and create your own content. Write about things you like and are close to heart. Write about things that you enjoy and others might as well. I write about design and helping minnows out here because I like that. Design is my passion and helping others is in my nature. While I know that writing for minnows won’t get any attraction from whales and get me that $5+ upvote, I still do it because I believe in it. I believe in this platform and let it grow.
Last but not least, your upvotes and comments count!
There are 2 kinds of people. First there is the newbie that up votes and comments on everything! Their voting power is drained to 1% and they just keep voting and hoping they get an up vote in return. Then they comment on everything even though they didn’t read the post. They just comment for the sake of commenting.
Then there are the better persons that really read a post and if they like it they upvote it and give a comment that is really meaningful and to the point. You should be as this guy. This guy is gonna make it far here on Steemit!
Why would you comment and up vote things you don’t really like. Be honest with yourself and treat people like you want yourself to be treated. Upvote and comment wisely and you gain followers like that as well.
