An everyday example on steemit
Yesterday, the new user with the meaningful name was newly created and instantly wrote his (or her I don't know) first post.
Quality content: 0%
Spamming content: 100%
Here is the original content:!
Hello everyone on Steemit.
Thank you, please give me follows here.
Then he or she paid some upvote bots to promote the post.
Until here, nothing spectacular - things like this happen all the time on steemit.
What was not common is that some bots actually did what they promise to to do: the post was flagged and the votes were withdrawn. A perfect example of how it should work.
Later on, the writer of the post defended himself, showing which bots had been mean to him
Something smells fishy
However, something is not right about this whole episode. Indeed, it stinks like hell.
The post was written very naive, as if it has been written by a user totally inexperienced on steemit. If you know your way around here only a little bit it was clear that your chance of being flagged was huge with this post.
did not bought upvotes for this post in the range typical for such user - maybe 0.1 SBD - 5 SBD. No, in total 250 SBD were paid for this post - almost 500 USD.
The money was paid directly from bittrex. This way, it is impossible to check out who this money comes from.
Would an inexperienced user do this?
The user was not generated the usual way. Instead it was created by using the anonymous account creation service anonsteem. Why would an inexperienced user do this? And how would somebody as inexperienced as he or she seem to be know how to do this?
The username seems to be completely useless. Why should somebody who plans to win followers chose such a name?
Everytihng has gone according to plan
My interpretation of this is the following:
What is happening now was exactly what the creator of this post intended. It went directly to the trending page and a discussion has started about quality of content and the behaviour of the upvote bots.
Who is behind this? What has been the intention to get this discussion started? One can only speculate...
What is your view?
All the best to you all,
rondras
