Steemit is full of special, unique individuals. Other social sites have awesome humans too, but there are a lot of users you have to filter through. Entertainment is cool, but there's enough of that to go around. If I want to learn something I didn't know I didn't know about, this is where I discover it.
If I want to read your precious little diary, I click on your blog. I'm not bombarded with stories about how your first cousin slept with your boy, or how ya baby daddy ain't $H!+, or hassled by scantily clad women with spam accounts.
It's not driven by sex and consumerism.
You actually put time and effort into your posts! Maybe it's the potential to make money that motivates you. Maybe you just have something to say.
Not writing this from my high horse AT ALL. I just like balance. When I'm on Instagram or Facebook, I'm tickled by memes I'd NEVER share publicly, (EVER. LOL!) but give me art, travel, science, and money, too. It's awesome to be a part of a community that has a little more substance. I can see the value.
