Hey Steemit!! I'm here for 11 days - and I'm still surviving in the jungle - so far. I wanted to take a moment to talk about the last 11 days. What I'm noticing as a newbie, and what I've already learned:
First of all. It's a challenge to write daily. Especially when you're on a platform, you don't quite know the people yet. It's a challenge for me to stay true. To myself. And to write whatever interests ME. Instead of trying to please everyone else. I'm growing a lot and fear becomes my signpost. So I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge everyone who puts in the hard work to share great value!
There has been a debate about the trending page. And a lot of discussion. Again: I'm maybe still a half-blind, little rabbit, lost in the jungle, but so far... I like the trending page. It (often) shows people who really do great work, and share great content. This is how it's supposed to be. It makes it easier to find great content.
There's a lot of feedback on the posts. I love that. I think many try to be nice (so that they don't get down-voted). But... I like nice feedback. So I don't really care. In addition to that; we can all kinda "smell" when a comment isn't genuine.
It's a platform with great artists and talent. I have to say. There may be a few spammy guys. But most of the time the quality of the content is amazing. People put their heart and soul and passion into what they write! And I love that! I believe this is how it's supposed to be.
Subscribe for Subscribe... Why? I received a few of those requests... "Hey Subscribe to my channel, and I'll subscribe back"... Well what's the point of having a subscriber who doesn't care at all about your content? I don't understand this yet. Why are we doing that? I don't want anyone to follow me who doesn't like what I do. At the same time I don't want people on my feed who write about things, I don't really care.
I will keep on posting. I hope to find my rythm and my voice ... soon... consistency helps a lot with that. For now; being this little, blind rabbit in the steemit-jungle is a task for itself and I'm doing my best to figure things out as fast as I can here. :)
I hope to talk to you soon (also with a bit more depth - I'm missing this currently in my writing. Maybe it's just my beginner phase here - you should see my private blog - I can sometimes be a deep, controversial philosopher.)
Let me know below: What do you like most about Steemit? And what are the things you don't like... so much?
Will be curious about your points of view!
Wishing you the best!!
Sam
