Paypal filed an application for an "Expedited Virtual Currency Transaction System" published on March 1 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The company is attempting to increase the speed of crypto payments via buyers and sellers using private keys between the merchant and the consumer directly.
Peter Thiel, a co-founder for PayPal is heavily invested in Bitcoin called Founders Fund which happens to be a venture capital firm that he also co-founded.
