Two years ago I did a post outlining how to make heaps of money on Steemit by using clickbait images.
I confidently started off with "Can the right thumbnail image pull in viewers like a flock of birds to a mouldy loaf of bread?"

Clearly I knew what I was doing even way back then, because it pulled in TWO CENTS!
Yes back in the old days before bots, it was really easy to make big money on Steemit. And I was a god.
Now as yet another two year anniversary Steemian I am finally entitled to start bleating on about how everything was back in the old days (two years ago). So I'm going to start right now!
Two years ago we weren't all so fucking serious - we did it for fun. Well some of us did, there actually were a lot of earnest geeks posting boring shit, even back then. But not quite everyone.
When the payouts decline like they have lately, everyone gets serious and starts posting try hard bore them until they pay me something posts. Fuck that shit.
Getting paid is fun and admittedly this is not going to be a long post because it probably won't hit the jackpot. But that could be a good thing - if I don't give a shit I can unclench my sphincter and post anything that comes to mind.
I think six months ago the standard of posts on Steemit were mostly higher than they are now. I know many of mine were.
A big shift is this - I like being paid, it makes me salivate, and if I was getting up to $100 for my longer posts 6 months ago, but now I don't have a shit show of getting over $20 - two things happen.
One - I tend to do shorter posts.
Two - I have set up a second account were I don't feel I have to stick to the unwritten rule of not using bidbots - and I'm probably going to post my longer posts on that account and not feel so spanked because it will look like I'm earning big payouts. Even if I'm not really, but nevermind, it makes me feel more manly.

So if this account is only earning bird droppings again like back in the old days, it needs to be back to fun and games - basically the reverse of what I thought would happen when I set up my new account.
I know I've been a bit boring lately because I used to get at least one unfollow a day and some of those exciting looking red mutes as well if I was lucky. Lately barely anyone can even be arsed even unfollowing me. This needs to change - I WANT MORE MUTES!
