I will admit, I'm still new to Steemit. I first heard of it sometime in May, but shrugged it off at the time. I had too much on my plate, with my YouTube channel, I told myself.
However, after being on here for a short while, I've been pleasantly surprised at the level of interaction, the variety of posts, and the potential this site has to grow. And yeah, no one wants to admit it, but the fact that you get paid, and you can see how fast your Steem is being accumulated, makes Steemit all the more alluring (though, it's not a lot compared to YouTube revenue, at first).
I'll be honest, when I first found Steemit, my plan was to basically copy my video links from my YouTube channel to each post. That's it. I wasn't interested in having an entire new platform to suck away my time. But, seeing the potential this site has to be the next big thing, I can't help but go all in on Steemit. Replying, upvoting, all of that. Originally, I was just going to share links. Now, I'm more than happy to essentially type up an article to go with the video, an article that can be read rather than watching the video.
To me, Steemit is more than just another site for me to gain exposure on. It's more than a way to make a quick buck. It's a chance to be part of creating something bigger than each of the individual accounts. It's a chance to create a new platform that is entirely different than anything conceived before it.
I Wish I Had Joined Steemit Earlier.
