To the Steemit community--
I am so excited to be here writing to you all today. I have never blogged a day in my life and this new platform seemed like the perfect place to start for this millennial. So without further ado, let me tell you a little more about myself.
For starters, I am a quarter of a century old and will be graduating college Spring 2018 with a bachelor of science in Communication Studies and a minor in Psychology. I plan on pursuing a career in human resources upon graduation. It was with the intent on helping people that first pulled me towards HR. As a woman, a wife and hopefully one day a mother, I want to help people be happy in their day-to-day job and leave work feeling fulfilled each day.
My husbands job has called us away from our native home in Texas so we currently live in Nebraska. I refer to myself as a 'displaced Texan' on the regular and a little piece of my heart is still in the lone star state!
Did I mention I love dogs? Well, I love dogs. Currently, I have three: Millie the husky, Mara the greyhound, and Rowen a mystery mutt.
These three hooligans keep me grounded and give me motivation to stay in shape (walks) and get up early every morning and not hit that snooze button 10 more times.
I love our planet and never shy away from an opportunity for an adventure in the great outdoors.
I am a lover of art, music, and Netflix. All of these things I plan on rambling to y'all about in the future.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with major depression and anxiety, and while it can be a bit disabling at times I do not let it define my life and keep me from achieving happiness. If I am able to help even one person who reads my blog who lives with depression, anxiety or some other disorder with a negative stigma, I will be forever grateful. I am by no means perfect, wise, or without fault; but I want to help others see all the beauty that is in our world and be thankful for the simple little things in life.
Being new to Steemit, I would LOVE to hear from everyone who happens across my blog. I want to learn more about the members of this awesome community so feel free to leave me a reply, can't wait to hear from you.
-Cheers
