Hi Everyone!
Happy Weekend to you!
Today I was doing some thinking while reading posts on Steemit when I had time to sit for 5 minutes.
While I love 's #freewrite I'm not a writer.
What I mean by that is, I write how I talk.
My son, , wrote a post the other day talking about a song I wrote, saying:
You see, I don't really know anything about music. I write poetry, organized by syllables, rhythms, and rhymes, my lyrics are always square and timed.
These lyrics were not that.
I had no idea what he was talking about and still don't but that's okay because I don't write poems either so I don't need to know.

When it comes to Steemit, we have all come here for different reasons, but we all have two things in common.
Will people like / upvote my post?
Will people comment on my post?
Number 2 might not be for everyone but I think it's about 70% if not higher.
Throw in that you get 10 votes a day at full power, which is not worth a lot if you are new on Steemit, to tell people you think their posts are wonderful in some way to you. You then feel like you have helped someone and you DID!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What happens after your 10 votes and you read something that touches you in some way?
You can try and remember to go back later and vote. I know people that have done that. You also can vote below your 90% but then it takes longer to get back up to 100%.
Well, that's a fine pickle now, isn't it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then there are comments.
Comments seem easy but they take time and thought that a person doesn't always have.
There are also people like me that do not write well and for some reason write worse in comments.
If I am compelled to write a comment, that means I loved what a person wrote, for any number of reasons, but to some the comment:
I LOVE THIS! Great Job!
means very little in the Steemit world where some people only comment to get you to upvote their work....we all know the comments I'm talking about.
My
I LOVE THIS! Great Job!
comment can come very close to resembling those kinds of comments and knowing that, if that is all I can think to say, I might not leave a comment if it's someone I haven't interacted with.
Which is kind of sad if you think about it. To me anyway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Which brings me to my last thought. As a friend of mine has always told me, I always save the most important things for last when I write.
Which do you value more, comments or upvotes?
And that is my Ramble for today.
