EMPLOYED AND ENSLAVED: EARNING ENOUGH TO GET BY BUT NEVER TO LIVE AND FLOURISH!
What’s the definition of a slave?
According to www.dictionary.com a slave is a person who is the legal property of another and is forced to obey them. What's an employee? Let's answer that below.
According to the workload website Labour relations act "the manner in which the person works is subject to the control or direction of another person.
The factor of control or direction will generally be present if the applicant is required to OBEY the lawful and reasonable COMMANDS, orders or instructions of the employer or the employer's personnel (for example, managers or supervisors) as to the manner in which they are to work."
A slave works for the betterment and enrichment of their master. An employee also works for the betterment and enrichment of their employer. Both are working and remain dependent on their superiors.
What's the difference between a slave and an employee?
I suppose the answer to this question is subjective. Based on the quoted sentences above it is clear where my stance is regarding answering this question.
In my opinion there's a minor difference between the two. Being an employee gives one an option of quitting. The results thereof however may be dire unless one is leaving one form of slavery for the other.
How do we see a slave in the 21st century?
Being a slave in the 21st century is window dressed to a point of attracting people into it. Selling your time for money just so that you could spend the money when you have time is madness. The time never comes. If it does it's not enough.
Nothing is more precious, important and equivalent to time, to your time.
What's even worse is selling your time for money only to find that it's not enough and then you end up taking out loans to cover whatever it is that you want or need to cover with money that's not yours.
Insanity then begins when for the better part of your years you end up working to make money to pay off loans that you are going to end taking out again… and so the circle continues.
You are now forever enslaved to your job and to the banks.
Interpret this post however you wish. The purpose of this is to get you thinking about life.
I'm hoping that this blog gets decent exposure and reception so that I can write a follow up blog explaining the difference between employment, AKA slavery, and a 'calling'.
We are leaving in a matrix. It’s time to wake up and set ourselves free… I'm trying…
