Its been 1 full year now since I signed up for steemit. A good friend of mine, fellow artist, documentary film maker and photographer Hive account@apolymask sent me a message one day just over a year ago suggesting the site, explaining that it was a place where I could upload all my original content and you could get paid for it. Of course I was interested as im always looking for new ways to share my original music and various collaborative musics and projects from my collaborative music house Sound Legion.

Who and What is Sound Legion?

My name is Shavon Bonnie Legion, and I am a California Singer Songwriter and multi genre collaborative music artist and creator of Sound Legion Records Collaborative Artist Music House. www.soundlegionrecords.com I created Sound Legion Collaborative Music house with my head producer Netherlands Sven Hive account@qrittix Dreisen and UK rapper and lyricist Hive account@clydemajiklegion. We work closely with producers and artists from all over the globe in various styles of music, creating original pieces of art through fusion and collaboration of sound. I have spent about 10 years now working with various producers in genres such as EDM, Hip Hop, Pop, Grime, Trip Hop, Rock and more. I have worked with several bands, and done quite a lot of first hand collaborations through travel all over the country and also overseas, where I have some of my closest partners in musical creation.

My Experience on steemit over the first 3 months

At first when signing up I was a little confused on how it all worked as most people are and especially were back then. I had a little knowledge on bitcoin and quickly educated myself on the alt coins and the cryptocurrency system basics. Took me a good while to understand the difference between Steem, Steem Power and SBD and the best way to move or hold the various types. I learned how to buy and sell my steem and SBD, how to convert it to Bitcoin and move into my bank account or onto a bitcoin pre paid visa card. I began quality engagement in various steemit talent outreach projects such as OpenMic and started creating my own contests for people to earn steem. Both logo and cover art contests and also the Steemit Artists Music Compilation.

Currently in the process of putting together the official Volume 3 (Singer Songwriter) compilation, I have successfully put together and presented 2 full length volumes or original free music from artists in various genres here on the steemit platform. The digital volume albums have been presented to the community with encouragement to follow and support there favorite music artists.

Sound Legion an Official OpenMic Judge

One of the biggest highlights of my Steemit Experience has to be the discovery of openmic created by Hive account@luzcypher. I was enjoying getting the chance to do some live recorded performances of original and cover songs for the community, with some great success in joining in early months I was asked a few months back by both Hive account@krystle and Hive account@luzcypher if I wanted to join in on an official judges panel with fellow steemit artists Hive account@jessamynorchard and the very talented Hive account@verbal-d. I of course was absolutely thrilled to jump on the chance to get to support the community and throw down my opinions on the performances. Being a collaborative artists I work in all types of music and have worked with such a wide range of individuals and sounds that It just felt right. I love discovering new talent as the inspiration is gold and also it opens up the color pallet for future collaborations. I take music very very seriously, its my life and the creation of each piece is incredibly real and passionate to me.

The Creation of DSound by Hive account@prc

A few months ago a new program app went live here on steemit called DSound which allows people up upload, listen, download and discover new music or audio files here on steemit. Its been my absolute favorite application developed so far here and I have made plenty of use of it in sharing a lot of my original music and collaborative music. Sound Legion DSound Account

All in all here in my first year on steemit I have experiences more true and real engagement from others than any other social media platform before. There is a spirit of motivation and encouragement here that I think will spring forth new hope for the future of the internet and social media. Its an exciting time to be involved in Steemit as I think we have a long road of success and development ahead, and its just wonderful to be apart of this movement.
