Why is it that I only learned about Thomas Edison is school?
If you don't know already the person on the left is Nikola Tesla, the person I believe we should have learned about in school. Now maybe some of you did but my friends and I and most likely a lot others, did not here a single word mentioned about him when he was right there competing against Edison for who's electrical system would one day power the world. Known as the War of Currents between Tesla's AC current and Edison's DC currents.
The two genius's have big influence on today's electrical power systems where both alternating and direct currents are used together. One of Tesla's inventions was the Wardenclyffe Tower but it was never finished.
With the idea of creating a wireless power grid and proving that he could wirelessly power a light bulb. He got financing from J.P. Morgan for the Wardenclyffe Tower. But when Marconi beat Tesla at radio transmission across the Atlantic he changed the plan of the tower to transmit free energy to all the world.
Then J.P.Morgan stopped his funding to Tesla... Because it was going to be free. And they don't like anything to be free...
