Let's face it... we all know that Blockchain was one of the greatest inventions since the Internet, and that's something that let's us glimpse at a better future.
Blockchain allows banks and other intermediaries to fade into obscurity, and it facilitates the peer-to-peer economy through the used of a decentralized system operated under cryptographic security as well... but Blockchain isn't alone anymore.
There are other technologies many consider superior popping up, technologies like Tangle and Hashgraph.
Throughout this post I'm going to let you guys know about Hashgraph and Tangle, technologies people talk about less.
Understanding Hashgraph Technology:
![Uploading file..._j9wpxl162]()Hashgraph is a technology that allows one to benefit from many advantages. Some claim it is even better than Blockchain, as it supposedly has:
- Over 250 Thousand Transactions per Second
- Built In Fairness: No User Can Manipulate Transaction Order;
- Efficiency: No block becomes stale with time;
- No Proof-of-Work;
Having said that, the technology is still not as worked upon as blockchain, but the question remains... if they keep on upgrading this tech, working upon it and perfecting it, will it render blockchain obsolete?
If you'd like to read the any of the documents below (The Whitepaper, the How It Works Guide, the System Overview, and more...) access this link and scroll down.
But this doesn't end here... there's another technology to look to, and this one is a bit more discussed here in Steemit since it is backing IOTA and people have taken an interest on it.
I'm talking about Tangle, of course, and I'll discuss it in the next section.
Tangle: Next Generation Blockless Technology
IOTA uses the Tangle, a technology that aims to make everything a service and offers a platform with no fees, enabling micro and nano transactions.
One of the main things is that consensus ins't decoupled here, and is an intrinsic part of the system.
The difference on relations can be best seen in the image provide below:

Fortunately, there is a lot of information on the web about Tangle already, so you can easilly study the concept.
For Hashgraph the info isn't as rich, but the whitepaper and documents I shared in the earlier section are a great start.
As far as Tangle is concerned, you can read its whitepaper here.
Now, let us approach the final question...
Which One is The Best? Here's the Mother of All Questions
This is probably what is on everyone's mind right now.
As all things technological, it is extremelly hard to grasp which is going to be the best. I think that they will be competing for a long time.
The truth is that Blockchain had a lot of attention and work and Tangle plus Hashgraph still didn't get a lot of attention from developers.
For now, blockchain is safe, but things get harder when Tangle and Hashgraph improve, which is something I would be interested in seeing.
I want to see more projects in Tangle and Hashgraph, and I can see these two being like twin siblings on an opposite side of blockchain, since by my limited understanding they are very similar.
If, on the end and after lots of projects built with all of them, one of them proves to be far superior to the others, then great.
I'm not loyal to obsolete technology, so when that time comes I'll have no problem in adopting the new trend.
For now, I'll stick with using blockchain while investing in the other two.
Cheers!
