Hello people,
Today I'm bringing you a different post. Rather than telling you how you should do "X" and "Y", I'm going to tell you how do I STEEM.
I'm going to tell you how I work on a daily basis to grow my Steem Power and my audience, so you can see if you're missing something, or on the other hand if you see I'm missing something (let me know if this is the case).
There are no secrets when it comes to growing your Steem account, or are there? Well, time to find out if you aren't doing everything you can, or if on the other hand I'm missing some vital things.
If this is something interesting for you, then read below...
Start of the Day: What To Do?
So, when I wake up, I take care of whatever pressing matter I have to take care in my offline world, such as work, my company and some other stuff.
But when I have a bit of time, it's time to hit the STEEM blockchain to put in a little work.
The first thing I do everyday is go over to my "Replies" section to see every comment on my posts and every reply to my comments, you can see it here:
I read every comment and answer them to the best of my ability. That's right, I leave NO comment unanswered, after all what kind of blogger are you if you don't listen to your audience?
The next thing I do is I hop on the mentions tool to check if someone wrote a comment or a post about me, or if my name was mentioned in the blockchain.
I do it through a Chrome Extension called "Steemitmoreinfo" but people use different tools for that, search around for a mention checker for Steem, there are a lot of them and GINAbot does the trick marvelously as well.
Here's how it looks like with the browser extension:
I read those comments and answer them to the best of my ability, or just see what they're mentioning me for and act accordingly.
If they wrote a post about me, I usually thank them for the mention and drop them a good upvote as by mentioning me they are spreading my name, blog and influence accross their audiences and the random passer-by.
The DESERVE to be thanked!
When this is taken care off, I take a little break.
1st Post of the Day: Here's How It Goes!
I start off by opening Hackmd.io
I use this editor as a way to format my posts and make them look lovely, with my Dragon dividers, signature, titles and bite-sized content.
I divide the text by making headers, dividing sections, making short sentences and using line breaks.
Using these techniques the text appears to be easier to read, and shorter, so it looks good and keeps the consistency of a great post without the bad wall of text feel some of those have.
Make it light weight, people are lazy, if your content is good you just need them to start reading anyway, so try to hook them by typing with enthusiasm and going straight to the point.
Once this is done, I go to the next step RIGHT AWAY.
Time for a Commenting Round:
The way I used to do it was I was using my commenting technique from my "Advanced Commenting Techniques" Post.
However, that only works when you're smaller.
With more people on my content and more followers, I get more and more people to share the love with, and VP is a precious resource.
What I do now is I open up the profiles of whoever voted on my last post, then I open up the profiles of those who mentioned me, then I open up the profiles of friends and Crypto Empire key members and I comment and vote a post on each.
If someone was extra generous, I comment on some other comments on their post, or comment and vote more posts.
What does this do for me? It ensures that the VP is spent supporting those who support me.
But I still have extra VP some times.
Here's to the next phase.
The Day's 2nd Post:
I don't always write a 2nd post, sometimes I only write once, so this phase can be present in some days while absent in the others.
When I publish my 2nd Post, I write it the same way I did the first.
There's not much difference here except the topic, and I always try to keep the quality high so I don't drop it just because I'm starting to feel a bit more tired.
However, some days I don't feel like publishing my 2nd post, and I skip this to go directly to the next phase.
Crypto Empire, Communities and... More!
When I'm done with the previous phases, I usually already have comments and replies on my first post for the day.
I repeat the first phase of the day, checking comments, mentions and replies.
Finally, it's time to go to my family at Crypto Empire and see what's up.
Sometimes we talk trash with each other, some times we help each other with doubts, sometimes there is a problem that needs fixing, some times embassies have cool news, and more...
On the other hand, I also participate in other communities and try to help out when I can.
Then I think of ways to expand the reach of the Empire and to include more communities in it to ensure every Steem Blockchain community can promote what they're doing there in order for the Steem ecosystem to grow.
I'm not afraid of letting other communities "steal" my members. In fact, my community helps other communities recruit people who are interested in their work, and gives the Steem ecosystem a way to identify key communities to join.
Checking How It All Went:
After all is done, it's time to go to check my rewards.
It's also time to go to smartmarket.com to see if any VP I still had left the previous day was sold as a vote to a whitelisted user on the blockchain. (those who publish quality content).
On the other hand, I also go to check how my signature referral links faired.
To finish the day, I head on over to Steem Reports to check some analytics and scroll through my feed to vote and comment some more on posts I love, those of my friends, fresh users who need a push or neglected Steemians who published good stuff but have close to no rewards.
Once this is done, I close my laptop and go to bed.
During the night, the replies, mentions and comments build up again, and the next day there's more work to be had.
Cheers!
