If you're not new to the blogging world, you know there are TONS of articles out there on SEO being dead... except it never is.
Every year or so, the search algorithms evolves, and with each new evolution more SEO professionals get their tactics blacklisted, and their efforts destroyed.
This is natural!
However, with each new update, a new blogger who saw his sites sandboxed or that can't adapt to the evolution of pageranking factors blogs about:
- SEO IS DEAD!
I thought I knew better than to do one of these posts, but now I'm making it because SEO is DEAD TO ME!

SEO and its Intricate Practices:
Ok, so there was a time in which SEO was all about the amount of links to your page.
I knew a SEO professional who used to proudly say he could rank a blank page for any term. That guy made a fortune because things were simple back then, and good for him or else he wouldn't be able to pull it off now.
Now, there are a lot of factors that influence SEO, and most of them are extremely hard to fake, so SEO is reserved to the whitest hatters or the reeeeally amazing grey hat SEO practitioners.
Before Steem came into my life, I was busy getting links, writing guest posts, reading algorithm updates every day and more.
I had to be on top of the search engine game or I'd be out of the "job"... my blog wouldn't feed me!
But now, with Steem, things got easier - and I mean WAY easier!
SEO is DEAD: In Comes a Better Paradigm!
SEO is dead to me!
There's no way I'll ever return to the overworking practices I was having before coming to the blockchain.
The amount of learning, work and time in order to keep yourself relevant isn't worth it now that I have access to a better paradigm.
You see, I can post here and people come... even a total newbie here can get people on his page with relative ease, whereas if you're a slave of Google you can wait 200 years if you pick the wrong keywords, and nobody will come.
So, what changed? Why the new paradigm?
It has to do with decentralization, and that's why I love that word so much...
Decentralization: Cut the Middle Man Out!
Decentralization is an exciting word for some, and a dangerous word for others.
Mostly, it is dangerous for those who are used to be the middle men, the so-called "Gatekeepers".
Google is a gatekeeper in a way that it digests the content of the World Wide Web and decides exactly what should be read and what shouldn't be read.
Fortunes are made according to the algorithms' whims and a bump on the SERPs can make or break a business or even scam.
This is an insane amount of power.
Why does it have to be this way though? Well, who's going to organize the content if you don't pay them for it?
No one. Bots will have to do the trick.
Well, STEEM rewards people for organizing content, they do this via curation, and even if you go on and on about how unfair the voting system is, it works wonders and killed SEO for me.
The truth is, with all the flaws any pioneering system must have, you won't see a scam taking number 1 spot on trending unless some really odd circumstances are at play.
With Google, scams topping the list for some keywords is COMMON!
Heck, TONS of Internet Marketers depend on that very thing to survive. Just google make money online and you'll see pages and pages worth of scams that would be obviously flagged around here.
It Isn't Perfect: But!
Granted, what we have now isn't perfect... but you know what?
The ability for me to just write and know people will come, even if not many, and that my article won't be invisible because I failed to write down a keyword or something means a lot to me.
The ease of mind to come, write, publish and see results is GROUNDBREAKING!
Plus, let's not forget that GOOGLE had TONS of years and money to develop their "curation" method, while STEEM had one year and managed to make me feel disgust at the traditional paradigm.
Heck, I even like Presearch more than google now!
