Tips on buying your multi-tool #2
Buying a multi-tool is an investment in itself, therefore you should always find the multi-tool that best suits you. However, DO NOT ever buy clones or unknown brands multi-tools, here are the reasons.
1, Steel material: The steel is usually cheap and sometimes unknown materials, which makes the tool unreliable and less durable.
2, Safety concerns: Multi-tools have locking mechanisms, that ensure whatever tools your using will close and injure you while you are using the tool. In other words, clones and unknown brands usually have weak locking mechanism, in the worst case, the locking mechanism does not even exists at all. Which will cause your multi-tool to work against you, Instead of getting things done, you might get hurt.
3, Repair: Some companies offer warranty to their multi-tools, For example, Leatherman have a 25 years warranty on their products, therefore it your tool breaks during normal use, they will replace the tool with a new one. Clones and unknown brands are cheap and repair is not available
In conclusion, NEVER buy clones or unknown brands, if you considering buying a multi-tool
