There are so many new Steemit folks out there who have joined only this month! Welcome new Steemsters. ππ½π€
I'm glad you are here. Makes this place much more interesting. Today I have heard many of you express both excitement and eagerness, and also lament and regret. Mainly, "if only I had joined sooner! I'd be rich, powerful, famous...a whale!" (Fill in the blank for what ever you think is missing in your life.)
A few thoughtsβ¦
You don't know what you don't know until you know it. Don't beat yourself up because you didn't hear about this sooner! Just trust the timing of the universe, and flow with it.
Also, you guys are projecting what Steemit is like today onto the past. It was not like it is now at first! I joined in July 2016. Back then Steemit felt much more vacant. (hollow vacume sound) There were only a few women, some yoga people, some travel writers and lots of others who didn't really provide any content beyond creating an account and saying "hi, I'm here", and expecting loads of riches from that. Mainly, it was populated by a bunch of crypto geeks. βπΎ
No offenseβ¦ I love me some crypto geek. π€π Mmmmm! My Man is one, and He is THE reason I joined so early! But, back then it was hard to scroll through all of the crypto posts to find posts that interested ME. Things like human interest stories, psychology, yoga, philosophy. Etc.
Furthermore, a year ago very few posts made any money. Comments were scarce and there was very little dialogue on most posts, unless you were one of the really big fish.
I was here early! And yet due to how it was, described above βπΌ, I got bored and took a break. I'm sorry, but it's true! Well, it wasn't just boredom...it was also other life events took my time and took priority. But anyways... I'm not way ahead of all the rest of you #junebugs just because I created an account here early, which conversely means that you are not far behind.
Bottom line - Life is always what you put into it. Don't kid yourself that if you had only joined a year ago that you would be worth millions of SP now. Maybe, but unlikely. It is never too late! Whatever you think you would've done back then...just do it now! Action pays off in results, no matter when you start.
Go do you.
