I keep checking the state of Steemit on Hypestat. Today it dropped a couple of places on Alexa. That's the first drop in a while and may indicate that it's reached a peak in popularity for now. It's got to compete with the big players around the world now.
Some of the country ranks are falling too. India is the main one that's climbing, but Nigeria could soon have a better rank than Korea. I would hope that some media exposure will help to improve things generally. We need people coming over to check out the site, but it's important that they see good content on their first visit. That will be what is on the Trending page and we know that has some issues. This is why it's important for vote for what is good and not just go for curation rewards. You may make something in the short term, but the potential of Steemit is to be much bigger than it is now. I hope to see millions of visitors in the near future.
Steem is still doing okay. Along with most of the market it recovered some of what it lost this week. As long as it's not falling much in the chart I think it's doing okay. I've said it's not a big deal for me in the short term, but 
You only have to look back a year to when Steem was worth just a few cents. That was tough times for those who relied on it, but a great opportunity for other to buy in. I didn't buy then, but I kept posting and that has paid off nicely.
Steemit is still a relatively new platform and it is likely to change. We can have some influence on the direction it takes with witness votes, support of projects and suggestions to the team. Take advantage of your position as an early adopter.
