Why do you use steemit?

I've enjoyed reading a variety of posts on Hive account@steemit so far. Topics from business to technology have filled the timeline. I've also read a number of personal posts and insights. What catches my attention is steemit users encompass the world.

I'm curious to hear why you use steemit and what you hope to get out of the experience?
