I am so excited to have been part of Steemit since July, and even more excited for what's coming up next. Here are some highlights from this year.

My Bestie on Steemit
I got my best friend to join us on Steemit! Go give her introduction post a little love. Meagan and I met when I was in the 6th grade, on the return bus from a field trip. It was kind of like kismet- we talked for the 4 hour ride home, and then we convinced our parents to let us have a sleepover, where we continued the conversation late into the night. She is an incredibly talented poet and artist, and has a fiber arts business that she runs with efficiency and spirit.
From Travel To Poetry
Initially when I started steemit, I thought I was going to write about travel. My first posts were about my summer trip to France and Europe, but as the school year began, the opportunities to travel dried up. So I started branching out into poetry, which is certainly a niche market here on steem, but I'm loving being part of building the community here. I work as a editor/mini mod in a number of discord servers, including at The Minnow Support Project and The Writer's Block. I love love love having the opportunity to talk writing craft with other dedicated writers, and have seen the quality of writing on steemit sharply improve as part of those efforts. I also work as a poetry/creative writing curator for MSP, which I also feel is helping to build the community. These projects have been a huge part of my own growth here on steemit. Here's one of my favorite poetry posts from this year:

Winning Make a Minnow!
I won Make a Minnow for the month of December! This is an awesome award that you have to be nominated for. I got 5,000 sp delegated to me for a month, courtesy of the wonderful
. This helped me grow so much as a Minnow, and I loved using it to help other Minnows throughout the steemit pond. I am so grateful and proud to have been nominated, and even more to have won!
Meetups!
If you haven't gone to a steemit meetup in your area yet, I recommend it. I have met some really cool people- mostly because Colorado is full of cool people, but also because steemit is. We always have a great time, no matter where we go. My favorite quote from this meetup was from
