Hello Steemit friends,
Today India celebrates Teacher's day ie on 5th of September. You might me thinking what is motive behind writing such post, right? So on this eve I just wanted to THANK each and every individual on Steemit from whom i have learnt writing blogs, from whose post i gained some knowledge about crypto/history/science etc ,those who all helped me out in need and also those who encouraged and motivated me in writing blogs,so as to bring something new to the community.
So who is a Teacher?
For me a Teacher is not only the one who teaches us in our school, college,University but the one from whom we learn everything new under the sun.A Teacher is the one from whom we learn how to use their knowledge and integrate it into their lives so they will be valuable member of society.Teacher is the one who makes Home,Society,Nation,World next to GOD.
Let me breakdown the word TEACHER in some words for you:-
T - Teaches
E- Encourages
A- Activates you to be better each day
C - Companion who stands by you/Character building
H- Highly Committed
E- Ever ready to help
R- Reaches you to a high position in the society
"Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me." by A.PJ.Abdul Kalam
Teacher is the one who leads, encourages, supports, walks, listen, help and love selflessly. It is said "A great nation is build through a teacher".
I still remember the day about 3 months back when I joined steemit and was wondering even if i will be able to make $100 ever. But here I am with a reputation score of 53 and with a follower of 425 supporting and motivating me each and every time.
So on this occasion i take the opportunity to thank each and every individual on steemit and special thanks to (Meghan bhai) who guided me in this wonderful journey,
from whom i improved my writing skills and she the one who motivated me to try out blogs of various category,
from whom i learnt some basic technical charts,
from whom i learn something new each and every time.
History behind Teacher's day celebration in India
Actually Teacher's day is celebrated in many countries but on different dates.Do check out this post to find which country celebrates on which day. In India Teacher's Day is celebrated on the 5th of September every year. Our earlier President, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5th of September so Teacher’s Day in India is being celebrated on his birthday because of his love and affection towards teaching profession. He was a great believer of education and highly famous as the scholar, diplomat, teacher and President of India.Dr Radhakrishnan was India's first vice president and second president.
"He has served his country in many capacities. But above all, he is a great teacher from whom all of us have learnt much and will continue to learn. It is India’s peculiar privilege to have a great philosopher, a great educationist and a great humanist as her President" said by our 1st Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
How it is celebrated in India
I still don't forget my school and college days how we celebrate this great occasion with enthusiasm and joy. The way we used to plan surprise events for our Teacher where we wish and gift them something.I hope i had some picture to share, but unfortunately i don't have any.Often, special cultural events are held in schools and colleges honoring educators and the important - and often, thankless - work they do daily. Social media platforms are flooded with tributes to teachers.
I am sharing this beautiful poem written by one of my beloved Teacher named Tyagraj Thakur .
"From Darkness to Light"
That dark zone of life
Blinded by despair and disgust
The world looked murky and bleak
Impaired by the taunting remarks of the world
Melody sounded a noise to ears
With frustration galore life tasted bitter
It was almost the dead-end of a phase
And there came a savior
Holding my hand, with a pat on my back
A breeze of optimism from the horizon
To guide my suffering soul through hope and aspiration
To take me
From untruth to truth, from darkness to light, from death to immortality
The world dubbed him a savior
But I could see, he was my TEACHER
