A friend of mine told me something, it's about a week ago when he angrily told me that he was going to give up on putting in work in his posts. Sincerely his posts are so good and if you dare pass by his blog you might be suprised that his posts go unnoticed.
This is a person who writes about life and relationships all together. It's some good advice he provides on his blog, but as o have told you earlier all this content is unnoticed.
Maybe by using the word unnoticed i might be wrong somewhere. I will just put it straight. His work goes unvoted.
You see some people can read a very productive and great content in a post and they decide or forget to not upvote it. Yeah this is common.
It's funny right?
Of course , but this happens so many times.
You probably have heard this many times, and sincerely if you are to look back at your first day of joining the new chess club, things weren't as smooth as you always anticipated them to be.
Steemit is no difference, i have colleagues who have been here for 5 months and they have never gotten lucky with any big vote, they always write good stuff and gather the few points they can everyday. Looking back and fast forward to now they are doing pretty well.

You might be comparing your content with other people's content that earn alot more than you do.
It may or may not matter that your content is better or not. Each of us here has a different approach to most things.
Just as in life in general, the rich will be richer, and steemit is no different. Nothing is going to change here, it's law if the universe and we all know whoever goes against the laws of the universe ends up in pain.
So be happy with what you got and build a loyal and active following, over time those planktons that are commenting or voting on your posts will grow as well and you shall have a network of whales with which you toiled together.
You could be expecting much for now, it may not be the time yet

Are you sitting staring at your computer all day expecting a miracle to happen? It may not happen too soon. Refreshing the your blog page so many times isn't doing you any favors.
I have been guilty of this so many times, there is always that air of relief when you realize things just don't come easy, it makes you work even harder.
Of course you can always get "lucky" and a whale notices your great content, but that is likely to happen if you have been persistent with your quality content. Which is a good thing.
what are you giving back to the platform?
As much as we want alot to happen to us, what do we want to happen to others. Besides fishing out the steem from the platform what else are you doing for it.
When the answer to that question is a good one, the journey on steemit is going to be a good one too.
Work hard, sit and relax, the good days are coming.

If you expected a quick fix, there is no quick fix here.
