I haven’t been posting as much lately, but it’s because of karma. I know that I can’t get something for nothing.
My intentions at Steemit have always been to add value to the platform, and while I could post every day, or multiple times a day, it would be like getting rewarded for doing nothing; free money.
At first, free money sounds good, but from a karmic standpoint, there must be a balance, and since every action has an equal and opposite reaction, then every free penny that we find in the grocery store parking lot will equal the loss of a penny later on, for the sake of balance.
A Valuable Lesson in Karma
There’s really no such a thing as ‘bad karma’, since everything in the world is the result of good and bad karma, or the law of ‘come back’ at work. In the same way, any ‘good’ karma is simply a way for balance to be achieved.
If I offer you a piece of pie, it may be because I want to give and share and show off how great I make pies, but what it really means is-- if the pie is actually good pie-- then that piece of pie is some of your good karma, returning to you for balance. It’s not free pie, it’s me offering pie as a way to make the world a better place (more people eating pie) and it’s you getting your karmic reward. Have some damn pie, you earned it, somehow!
Ok, maybe the pie isn’t a good analogy, but there's a difference between being given something, and taking it. I seriously won’t pick up change from the ground anymore, because nothing in life is free.
Similarly, if I lose money, and it falls from my pocket, forever lost, then a balance has been restored, as I must have previously gotten an equal amount of money for ‘free’ at some point.
Keeping Balanced
When I think of something valuable to post, I’ll post it, and if the post doesn’t do well, it’s that old karma at work again, but if the post draws lots of rewards, that is karma too, and I will know that I earned it with action, and the rewards, or lack of same, is the equal and opposite reaction.
If you like this post, upvote as hard as you can for the best curation rewards, but also for karmic rewards. Now is the chance to balance things out, and I am glad to help. Photo above, Free Money is mine, 2018.
