Hello friends,
today I would like to tell you something about one of the biggest animals on earth!
The elephant!
Did you know that the word elephant stems from the greek word "elephas" which means ivory?! :-)
Well here I want to show you some pictures which I took on my first safari trip in South Africa πΏπ¦
Look how social they are! I would say that this is a couple and I dawn them feeding each other.
Elephants are one of the most intelligent animals and here are some interesting facts about this species.
#1
The elephantβs gestation period is 22 months β longer than any other land animal in the world.
#2
The oldest known elephant in the world lived for 86 years (1917 β 2003). The average lifespan of an elephant is from 50 to 70 years.

Elephants have two gaits β a walk and a faster gait that is similar to running. They cannot jump, trot or gallop, however they can swim and use their trunk as a snorkel.

Oh South Africa - you're a beauty!
To everyone who has not been there - book your flight! βοΈπΏπ¦
I wish everyone a great day!
Cheers Tim
