Hello Steemians (and especially our followers),
We noticed upon waking up this morning that we reached our first milestone of 100 followers (now 105) within 17 days. We came onto Steemit as we wanted a place to start our blog after years of stalling and delaying. We told ourselves at the beginning of the year that 2018 is the year of 'can-dos' and action. We are coming to the end of the first month of 2018 and already Becca has managed to force Sam to go to a beginners (walk-in) salsa class (something he was willing to try, but dreading to do). He conquered his fear of dancing in public without being tipsy or drunk. There is plenty of excitement and adventures to come and we cannot wait to share it with you all!
Firstly, we are here to write about our experiences in life in a creative and hopefully inspirational way. The fact Steemit is linked to a crytpocurrency called Steem and has the ability to pay out authors and curators was a bonus. Some see gaining Steem/SBD payouts as an asset or a monetary value, which it is, but we see it as appreciation votes. What is given to us in SBDs is re-invested back into the platform as Steem Power, so that we can have more influence and upvote great quality posts and comments from all of you! We are in this for the long-term and want to see more and more users on Steemit/DTube.
We hope you all appreciate our small token of gratitude. We realised only yesterday that we were coming closer to the 100 followers mark and we wanted to give back. Yet, as we said, we always re-invested our SBDs straight into Steem Power. However, last night we had a payout and we made sure our SBDs were converted into Steem, which gave us 2.019 Steem. This is not a great deal of money, but it works out to about $9-$10. Sam was studying from home today and you can say he did a lot of that (or not). He spent almost two hours transferring 0.020 Steem to our first 100 followers (well, the last one got 0.019 - sorry
