Okay, so I ran into a (I thought) very well-reasoned and -presented article that should resonate with Steemians quite well, I would think.

And my comment, if you don't scroll far enough, with two minor corrections.

A VERY interesting overview of this field- I’m of the opinion that monetary systems don’t actually DO anything AT ALL- it’s the transactions encoded in them (thanks for including just a suggestion of the math involved to further pique my interest) that REPRESENT actions in the real world.
I’m certainly of the opinion the established corporate players (the ultra-rich family foundations, synonymously) are starting to react in a very big way since digital currencies are becoming so prominent in the past two years, even the Japanese (and even more recently some other globally significant) government(s) is (are) pro-actively engaging in this sphere. This could slam the lid on wide (and flat, which would be the summum bonum of an economic system to me) distribution of access and use, I greatly fear.
I would like to share this and some thought of my own on this subject to several sites, with full attribution, but I don’t want you to be blind-sided should a response come from very odd quarters.
