A new tool for people who prefer telling stories with fewer words...
A couple of weeks ago, , in her neat Discord group, shared with us a new decentralised app called SOLA.AI - I checked it out.
What's SOLA.AI?
As previously said, SOLA is a multiplatform, decentralised app with straightforward mechanics in which individuals can share content and earn from it (like Steemit).
The shared content is encapsulated into cards; a card is a container that can hold an image with some text, a 10 sec video, or just a small paragraph.
You can concatenate several cards, so then you can post a sequence of stories. It's like MEDIUM meets TINDER (it's not a dating app!).
Why Tinder?! SOLA has a very intuitive and catchy user experience (UX): users with simple finger gestures can browse a story (left/right swipe) or skip it (down swipe) or upvote it (up swipe).
That's pretty much all for the user interaction.
Everyday users have a limited amount of AP (action points), and they can use it to upvote others and comment. This limit is done to limit spam and random upvotes.
By interacting (commenting, sharing, upvoting) you earn the app's cryptocurrency SOL, that is listed in a couple of exchanges (Tindex and OpenLedger) and can be traded for ETH or BTC.
It's a relatively new app, and the content isn't much, sometimes happened to me to re-skip a card previously seen. Also, there is already quite a lot of spam; there isn't a tag system so basically it's just luck to get a good stream of content.
One thing that I'm still trying to figure out is the content propagation, that should go from a node to another. It seems that a node is someone who upvoted you, who pushes your content to her network. But it's not very clear to me yet, if someone knows more about it please feel free to add a comment below.
Are you that kind of storyteller?
I'm not really into blogging, as you can see from my content and from the frequency I post, but I like reading and learning from some of you folks here in steemit.
I see that there is a business potential for SOLA.AI because there is a big number of individuals who prefer to speak with more visual content and different storytelling, I did enjoy some visual reportages on the app done by photographers around the world.
Steemit is though, so maybe if you feel that gifs, short paragraphs or a sequence of the picture are the way you prefer to communicate, give it a go.
I'm personally using it to write concise poetry that I can use for my songs.
Here you can find my account https://sola.ai/venalbe if you want to join.
