Steem was down, I kinda missed it.
Despite all the times I think I hate Steemit, I still come back. Having to wait while you power down always gives me time for sober reflection, and I always cancel the power down and stick around. I bought 150 steem on the weekend. One day it will seem like a great deal, mark my words.
There are a ton of Steem alternatives, it's hard to guess which might take off
While Steem was down I started making a list of other earn online sites I still haven't fully looked into. Some may not be up and running, and I don't vouch for anything. Do research before wasting your time, and especially before investing. It's a gamble guessing what might succeed. When I head about Sola I thought it was for sure the next big thing, seems like it never really took off. I give early adopters of Steemit credit. Putting in time and money when you have no idea if the thing is going to work is something I respect.

Some of these may not be crypto, just ideas to pay creators, I haven't checked them all. I just hear about something and bookmark it.
