Today is great! I'm excited to be conducting my first Power Up!
Thanks to a small donation from and some earnings from my posts, this is what my Wallet looks like as of right now:
As it stands it's not by any means a "whale" amount of Powering Up, but it's still something! I have not performed any cashouts, everything my account has earned so far is right there, converted to Steem, awaiting ASCENSION INTO THE GOD-CURRENCY STEEM POWER!
Truth be told I'm a bit nervous, but I think that's mostly overtaken by my excitement. I mean, look at it this way, I'm about to take the only money I have right now, and invest it in one of the greatest internet inventions since Facebook, and we're only in Steemit's infancy. 50,000 members and counting, we've made loads of progress, and we still have huge amounts of growth left. According to Zephoria Digital Marketing, Facebook has 1.71 BILLION active users every single month (source). To give you an idea, if we take Steemit's total users and quantify it next to even just Facebook's active users, we here at Steemit have an awe-dropping:
0.00292% of their users, even skewing the statistics in Steemit's favor.
If you prefer simpler math, that means for every 1 user Steemit has, Facebook has 342 active users (and almost a half! Poor guy :().
Do you realize what this means? All these people are worrying about whether or not they missed the Steemit bubble, missed its rise to power. WHAT.
We haven't even scratched the surface yet, my friends.
Steemit has a long way to go, and everyone here now will be grateful they stayed to witness its ascension into greatness.
Without further ado, let's Power Up into the greatest Internet community mankind has ever seen!
OPERATION COMPLETE:
Each and everyone of you should be just as excited as I am, even if you're only powering up $1 of your Steem. Who knows what the future holds? Steemit is in the process of gathering some of the brightest minds on the planet, all in once place, to share their knowledge and experiences with everyone. This isn't about "likes" and "feelings" and the other meaningless babble Facebook contains. Steemit is the embodiment of intelligence and entertainment, encouraging every member to find their passions and pursue them and share them with others.
Now you just need to ask yourself something:
Does Facebook provide you with that? Does Reddit? Twitter? How about MySpace? Anything at all?
If you're wondering if and when you should Power Up into Steem Power, I think you'll find your answer in this article.
