I have the same strategy. Only follow people with great content. I doubt if I ever follow more than 150-200 people.

When my feed is empty and I have time for reading, then I also visit Hot, Promoted and Trending tabs.

You can follow me, because I am going to write only great content in my blog posts, mostly giving people great ideas on how to be more efficient (and thus a bit more happy). I will not post too often, like once per 2 weeks. And I will start soon.
