Short Answer:
Yes. 100% yes.
Long Answer
When people see a site that is paying users red flags go up. We, as a society, have become distrustful of new opportunities, especially when they are online and especially when they involve money. And for good reason, there are a lot of sites that try to sell you something or tell you how to get quick rich. But this site will not tell you to do either. It is free to use. You can sign up, post, vote and make money and it will not cost you a cent. And you will be working for your money by sharing your content, which you should be getting paid for.
So where does the money come from? This is a common question and if you are new to cryptocurrency it can seem a little odd. The site rewards users in a currency called steem. If you know anything about bitcoin then you are already ahead of the game. It is a digital coin, that because of blockchain technology, is limited, and thus can be given value. There are only so many coins available and only so many created everyday. And everyday those coins are divided by the users of the site. Users who hold more coin have more voting power and their votes will give you a higher percentage of the reward pool for your posts. Steem is an open system, so these people who upvote you are people who hold the coin. Not a site, but people. And if they like your article, meme or selfie, you get a piece of the pool. These coins are worth money and are traded on a market. The value goes up and down and today, as I write this, the coin is around $2.68. So if you get 4 steem, you made over 10 dollars USD. Since these coins have value, why would a site give them away for free? Because the more people who use and hold the coin, the higher the chance the value increases. Look at the value of bitcoin, which is nearing $3,000 USD per coin. As the coin is becoming more and more used around the world, it can really push up the value. I do not know if steem is going to make it that high, but as you are earning them, for free, to do what you do on other sites, why not give it a try?
One final thing. You might be thinking I work for the company or question my words as I am posting my article on the site itself. I do not work for the company but as I own some SP, I do, in a way own a piece of the company. And it is my choice to post here on this site when I can post anywhere. Why? Because unlike other sites, I can get paid for my work. I am a professionally published author and this is where I choose to put my words.
And it's free, so give it a shot.
