I've not usually been known to be the kind of person who just stomps off like a whiny kid who's just discovered he's having meatloaf for dinner, and I still don't see myself doing that in this case either. I'm just posting this mostly to get it off my chest. Firstly, what I see around here lately are a lot of people getting sucked into the drama that inevitably occurs here - just as with all social media if we're to be honest - and countless users have abandoned ship because they feel they've either been wronged in some way, or they have this idea that the platform will fail and they don't want to be on board when it does, or they're addicted to looking at drama so that's all they see.
That's never been what Steemit is about for me.
I tend to miss a lot of it - thankfully - but I do see some of it happening, usually because a link to it was shared in a chatroom or something, but it just doesn't matter enough to me to invest my time and energy into it. To me, it's the reality TV of Steemit. And what does it usually amount to when someone does jump in and try to involve themselves in it? They get flagged. Then they're surprised they got flagged. LOL I never understood that. If you get close enough to water, your chances of getting a little wet increase.
So, I just post content. For anyone whose been following me for any amount of time, you know the kind of stuff I post. Photography mostly, but sometimes videos or maybe a post sprinkled here and there about crypto. I pay attention to the posts in my feed, making sure that the auteurs de drame aren't included there.
As far as the support, going back to the point in my title, I seem to have hit a historical low with my post payouts. Now, like I said, I'm not going to be that little boy who stomps off, and I don't have any intentions to stop posting, but I can't say it's not a bit discouraging on some level, especially when I see posts that mine are just as good as that are totally cleaning up. But please understand, I accept that this is how it is because it's always been that way since the beginning. I'm cool with it. And it's been probably since near the beginning that I personally have said anything about it. I simply don't have the repeated support that those authors do. I had it for a little while, and it was nice. Then, slowly, they stopped voting. And that's their prerogative. That's the whole point of this place. I just hope I'm fortunate enough to earn back that support.
