I hope to post a picture later today of my Steemit voting notebook. When I do, you will notice a big gap in my voting between April 3rd and April 6th. I did absolutely nothing on Steemit for two whole days.
Then I came back and checked my wantwiserupvote tag, and was able to upvote four minnow articles. One of those articles had been live for three days by the time I favored it with my upvote.
This made me grateful for the seven day payout window. In the "old days," a post payed out around 24 hours after its last substantial upvote. Then it would pay out again thirty days later if it collected any more upvotes. Practically this meant that you had a little over a 24 hour window of time to upvote a post in time for the first payout. Now you have seven days. This means that if I promise to consider upvoting a post with a certain tag on it and I don't get to it for a couple days, it's OK.
With that said, as much as possible I still want to make a point to post something at least once a day to keep my payout pipeline built up. About a week from now I'll receive no payouts for two days in a row just because I didn't post anything. Oh well, that's going to happen from time to time. Hopefully not too much.
Anyone else finding the new payout system will actually work out better for you? If so, why?
