In the busy lives we lead it can sometimes be difficult not to forget that you are living life for you!
We spend each and everyday working, maintaining relationships and just ploughing through without stopping to take the time for who really matters.
The benefits of taking some time for yourself
Taking time for yourself has both psychological and physical benefits. It's scientifically proven! If you give yourself time to take a break you could end up feeling more refreshed and overall happier
Reduce stress levels by taking time to focus on activities just for you. doing this will give you a chance to recharge your batteries and have you ready for the things that are not just for you.
Giving yourself a little time to focus solely on you, gives you the needed time to reflect on and appreciate what you have already accomplished.
What can you do in the time for yourself?
Anything you bloody well like!
It's your time, and that means its your choice to choose the things you want to do. It could simply be, to do nothing, to sit and relax and forget about the outside and start thinking about the inside.
Some things people like to do in the time the set aside for themselves are;
- Yoga - taking your mind off the exterior world and putting that energy into focusing on your body and mind.
- Reading - Reading a book that appeals to you, to your inner self. Loosing yourself in the pages for hours can be a great way to rest you racing mind.
- Cooking - trying out a new recipe or just experimenting with what you have in the cupboards. Cooking can be relaxing but cooking something for yourself can be a treat that is all for you.
For me, I like to crank up the volume on my favourite drum and bass classics and rave hard until my legs feel like jelly.
