“You can learn new things at any time in your life if you're willing to be a beginner. If you actually learn to like being a beginner, the whole world opens up to you”
When was your first time to experience things for the first time? How was it? What did you feel? Though some first-time experiences are not all unforgettable but, there is always a first time for everything.
Let me share with you my first-time experience in Ice Skating =)
I am a tad adventurous woman, but skating was the most challenging adventure that I have ever experience here in Cebu at (SM Seaside). I was thinking not just twice but many times if I will go for ice skating because as I saw the newbies falling apart again and again and it hurts them, Naaah.. My mind got a No, no decision. It’s petrifying! But as I saw the people who are expert on doing the ice skating, it encourages me to try, especially when I saw kids good on it, I was so amused and amazed at them. I remembered the saying “If others can do, why can’t I? So finally, this is it, trying to do something new
After I had chosen the right size of skates, and got a lot of courage. I went to the ice rink and woooh! My feet are not moving, It was so slippery haha! I can’t even balance myself and my feet are both shaking, and can’t let go the wall that was supporting me to stand. But as I am at the corner and struggling to stand up, I was actually observing at the same time. It takes time for me to adjust and maintain the balance, I am just comforting myself like “Go! Mich, you can do that, just keep on going” There were a clique of experts inside the rink and practicing I am too envious, they are really astounding. As I got slithering and fall, they helped me to stand up and gave techniques, and asked “Are you okay? Oh! You should do like that, and this” they are actually nice and helpful especially for me, a newbie. Gradually, because of my eagerness and perseverance to do the skating,I finally skate in the rink without any support. With enough of my courage, I leisurely move towards the dominant rink, I saw my progressed and it was fulfilling, indeed, if you really want to learn something you should work hard for it and just believe in yourself because nothing is impossible
I had tough times learning how to do skating. But I found my day so progressive because I learned something new, I tried something new, and most importantly I learned the skill and seized the concept behind the skating, and appreciate the hard work of the people who are now an expert to do the ice skating and compete to the different countries and make our country proud I really enjoy skating! And surely I will try it again
Thank you so much for reading Steemians!
Until my next Blog =)
