Cartoon is a media that can be used as a medium of learning for early childhood. By watching a cartoon that is displayed through audio visuals a child can learn many things in early age. The main skills that can be learned through cartoons are communication skills, ability to behave and adaptability. So that cartoons can be considered as learning media for early childhood.
However, it can not be denied that many cartoons also have negative effects on children. This is because the cartoon displays content that is inconsistent with the age of the child who is watching and does not comply with the norms that apply to children such as violent content, indecent content and non-educated content for child development.
To choose a cartoon that is right for children, there are some aspects that must be considered by parents. Aspects to consider in a cartoon are as follows;
- Has an educational value
- Using communicative and polite language
- Teach social and environmental awareness
- Teach friendship
- Increase motivation
- cultivate curiosity
Next, I intend to review some cartoons that have educational value for children, and cartoons that are not worth watching for children:
1. Naruto: Not Good for Children
This cartoon or animation features many fights between the shinobi. This cartoon is not well watched by the child because it displays violent scenes such as fights, murders, and blood. Thus, children will imitate the scene shown to do it with their friends.

2. Tom & Jerry: Not Good for Children
This cartoon shows the action of a fight between a cat and a mouse and laden with the act of mutual revenge between a mouse and a cat. This cartoon is not well watched for violent action. this cartoon will have a negative effect on the child's behavioral development. It is feared that this watcher will consider that contention is a natural thing in life. In addition, this cartoon also does not have the content of the conversation so that children can not learn a communicative language in their lives.

3. Upin Ipin: Good for children
Unlike Naruto and Tom & Jerry, the animation of Upin Ipin is great for children to watch. This cartoon teaches children how to politely communicate with their parents, friendships and daily life. In addition, this cartoon also teaches many other moral values that are displayed both at school and at home.

4. Dora The Explorer : Good for Children
Similarly with Upin Ipin, Dora The Explorer is also very nice to watch by children in early age. These cartoons can foster children's curiosity and their cognitive development at an early age. So it would be good for them to explore the curiosity. In addition, this cartoon also uses a good language for children with the questions given by Dora in the cartoon.
