This is a poem I learned when I was in high school that teaches you the months of the year as well as some weather terms. I was actually telling this to my kids in the car today. Memorizing poems, songs and various other things still is sticking with me some 20+ years later. It's amazing!
| Los Meses | The Months |
|---|---|
| En enero hace frío, | In January it's cold |
| En febrero también | In February also |
| En marzo hace viento, | In March it's windy |
| En abril está bien. | In April it's nice. |
| En mayo hay muchas flores, | In May there are many flowers |
| En junio el amor | In June love |
| En julio vacaciones, | In July vacations |
| En agosto hace calor. | In August it's hot. |
| En septiembre hay neblina, | In September there is fog |
| En octubre el tronar. | In October thunder |
| Noviembre trae la lluvia, | November brings rain |
| Y diciembre el nevar. | And December snow. |
A recent foggy day at our house
So you see, you can learn the months of the year and some weather in this poem. I think it is on our list to memorize soon. I find it amazing when we are out and the kids pick up a word or ask what a word means. We need to start watching more cartoons in Spanish!!
Panama Trivia
Did you know that Senator John McCain was born in Panama? He was born in the Canal Zone, but at the time, that was considered U.S. Territory.
