Training English Debate for Student
Hi Steemians arround the world, how is everythings ? I wish we still in spirit sharing eachother about everything positive, inspirative and usefull knowledge.
Today, I gonna share you my self experience about give training english debate to students. As we knows, there are so many tricks to make our students "fall in love" to english subject, one of this is debate.
Through debate, the students will be treat their tongue to speak clearly, loadly and fluently. Through debate also, the student will be treat the listening skill and increasing vocabulary memory, and attitude in speaking also.
As a English Teacher, how arrange a debate simulation in order to make our student confortable and interesting to debate in english ? I think that is the main question. First, you have to choice a numbers of student just for small debate simulation infront of class. Second, make it to two groups, one group to positive opinion and the other negative opinion. Third, give them a easy subject or thema to debate. Need to attention about subject or thema, subject must be simple that student found it in daily life and have a little bit controvertions. For example "do you agree if our school, do not allowed Android Phone activated in school area ?". Yups, this is just an example, so to the next you have to give motivation to students in speaking english. Do not comment anything to thoose student, let them combine english and their mother tongue. It is OK for the first chapter.
Treat the pronounciation to students, and attitude when speaking eachother. Ask to students to note and remember new vocabulary that they do not know before. Just to additional tricks, you can give them like a video of public figure, actor or actreess when speak english, may be you can download it through "youtube" or other video source sites.
Do that tricks every day, speak in english when you meet thoose students. Never gonna go aday without speaking english. Thats all for today. Thank you.
