Collecting and Organizing Data
In this world we have persons, animals, vegetation and objects all around. All of these have some specific information about them. Such as persons' choices of way of living, how to dress up or what to eat; all this information is known as DATA.
Data about a group can be very useful and beneficial for them. For example; there are 3 workers in a factory who live in the same neighborhood but they don't know about it and all three commute to the work in separate cars. Consider they share this information (data) with each other and arrange to come to work together, it will save them a lot of money.
Be careful, data about a group can be used as a harmful way too when it goes to the wrong hands.
So we want our young children in 3rd grade to learn about how to collect data and then how to organize it. I have prepared the following activity sheets for the task;
