Introduction to Least Common Multiple
Least Common Multiple of two or more numbers is the smallest number which is divisible by all the given numbers.
For example; consider 2 and 3 and we look for number which are divisible by both 2 and 3 (also known as multiples of 2 and 3);
4 is divisible by 2 but not by 3 hence not common multiple, 5 is divisible by none of 2 and 3, 6 is divisible by both 2 and 3 hence 6 is the first common multiple of 2 and 3. Also there is no other number smaller than 6 which is divisible by both 2 and 3 therefore 6 is the least common multiple.
