Sitting here on my rock, thinking how many people do you know that do not realise they are family.
We had two girls in our school, as teachers we were always wondering about them as they looked so alike and it was incredible to think they were just friends.
The one was an adopted child, who was very happy but the other one lived with her parents.
Just shows you how life has its own way of doing things. They both were the same age and even had the same date of birth and this got us thinking.
We spoke to both the couples as we were wondering, and the one said no this is our only child.
We were teenagers when she was born and our parents helped us to finish school and then we got married.
We do know that they had told us that they were actually twins, but the one was still born.
Our parents were very kind people but they never said anything to us about having another child.
When we as teachers started wondering, the two couples decided to have D.N.A. tests done so we could find out if they might be family of some kind. Maybe there were other family that they did not know about.
The parents who helped the couple had already passed away so there was no one they could ask what was really happening.
They came together and decided to pay for D.N.A. tests and find out if there is any way that these two could be related.
When the results came back, the shock was really devastating.
These two were identical twins. We could believe it as they have such identical ways and looks.
The parent who helped the children to finish school never told them, they had said it was a still birth and that only one had lived.
They then had the other one adopted, as they said there were so many people who wanted babies and could not have any. They could not afford to help with two babies.
Who on earth would have thought that they would land up in the same school.
Why I am telling you this is because I read about two men who had been best of friends for 60 years, I will put the video in here and you will understand they were friends from the sixth grade and never knew anything except that they were wonderful friends.

My whole story came about a Living Science article I read, that I put in here. This made me remember these two girls.
When we got them all together in the office, and we were told that these children were really twins, we just all cried. I think everyone thought me crazy as I am not a crier but they came to a compromise that they will leave everything the way it was and just visit and do things together all the time.
The world can be such a funny place, some loose and some win I am just so happy that everything worked out for these wonderful children.
