The First Glimpse (an original short story)
I unexpectedly woke up in the middle of the night. It was quite strange for me because I am what you call a "heavy sleeper". Not even the loudest noise nor the most obvious tap would wake me.
Facing the window beside my bed, I saw the bright moon peeking in. Slowly rising on my feet, I embraced myself as I closed in. I opened my almost transparent curtain as well as the glass window behind it. When I did, I felt the cool breeze pass through my skin. Tightening my embrace, I look at the bright moon in an unusually starless sky. It was so bright and it felt much closer than it actually was. As I was appreciating the moon's beauty that night, my brain was squeezing itself... almost helpless in finding the answer as to why I woke up.
Me waking up in the middle of the night, the unusual starless sky and the moon so magically bright... the scenery seemed perfect but I felt different. "What is going on?" I thought to myself.
Tired from thinking, I decided to give up. I closed my room's window and turned around to a surprising sight. Astonished, dumbfounded, call it whatever you want to call it. It was the first time I got a glimpse of a heavy sleeper on the bed. Yes, I was on it!
