Filipinos, always full of smiles even if they have the biggest tragedy......
A year ago, I stepped my foot on a floating boat placed in the outskirts of Quezon City, Philippines. I was then a researcher of a popular TV documentary being aired every Friday night. I was one of the lucky people who were able to witness the purity of hearts of the people living in an area known as --- waterworld.
This is Nanay ***** and she lives in the area. She has been living in the area for more than 10 years and has lived with the water since then. She sometimes gets the paddle and her boat when visitors, like us, need to see the place for documentary purposes. Yes, the area has been a subject for poverty documentaries because of its "unusualness" for a city. This area is located in one of the country's richest city and yet submerged with water, which I consider tears of help.
The sad truth is, no matter how many times we show it to the world, no matter how many views it gets on YouTube or on blogs, it's hard to remove the water. The water that had soaked the hopes of people living in a world of water.
