Last weekend we went to one of our beloved annual activities: the 'Corn' Maze.
You may wonder why I type the word 'corn' in quotation marks...
This, my friends, is NOT corn. It is sorghum. This is a crop grown and used as a grain, livestock feed, and to make a type of sweetener.
Why do they call it corn? I guess 'Corn Maze' sounds more fun than a 'Sorghum Maze'...
Regardless of the type of plant, it DOES grow tall enough to make a decent maze. We had a great time. They had a 'Barnyard Bingo' game to play, where you hunt for signs with fun facts and cross off bingo numbers. We won a bottle of water with this endeavor, haha!
It actually was a very warm day, and the water was appreciated. It was very sunny, and I have what my husband likes to call a 'marshmallow complexion', so naturally, I got nice and burnt.
I didn't mind too much though. We had a lot of fun, and got a load of excercise!
By the time we were done, we had walked for a couple of hours!
I'm not sure the distance we traveled, but all our legs were tired at the end. The kids were determined to traverse every single path available to find every last bingo sign... It was a great way to get exercise though, and sunshine! Not to mention, it's a fun family activity for us to do together! ♥
What kinds of activities do you enjoy in the fall? What kinds of things do your family do together for bonding time?
Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day! ♥
