I just passed 13,000 posts and comments on Steemit. That's about 1,000 each month! Maybe I need to take some time off.
The one I'm really looking forward to is 2,000 followers and that could be close. That's a measure of how many people find me interesting rather than how much I post. I've achieved this number without asking people to follow me. Not sure I've ever done that. I want it to be because they want to. You can see how it's grown over the last year, although Steemwhales doesn't seem to be getting the latest numbers over the last few weeks.
One the Steemwhales charts (with the numbers they have) I'm:
- 34th for posts, although I did briefly make the top 20.
- 149th for reputation
- 461st for followers
I'm happy enough with those numbers. Not bad for a site with 371,000 users. I know many are inactive and there are lots of bots, but there must be tens of thousands of people using Steemit now. It's seen massive growth since I joined up. It may be peaking on Alexa, but it's going to get harder to climb there when it's competing against some major sites.
Reaching the next level of millions of users will be a big step. Then the world will take notice. I want to see creative people from around the world earning from their work instead of being exploited by the big social sites. Why do it for the publicity when you can do it for real money?
Steem on!
